Cravante.com Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
Cravante generates chat responses on your device. The Chat feature does not send your prompts, responses, or chat history to Cravante, Hugging Face, model publishers, or any hosted AI service. No account is required.
Local AI, including third-party models
Cravante Swift uses Apple’s on-device SystemLanguageModel. Downloaded models, including Qwen, Gemma, and Llama, run locally using MLX Swift. These model names identify the downloaded models, not online chat services. There is no cloud inference fallback when a local model is unavailable.
Information stored on your device
Cravante stores app preferences, the selected model, downloaded model files, manually added repository names, and chat history inside the app’s private container. Chats remain there between app launches until you remove them. Cravante does not upload or sell their contents.
Chats are excluded from device backups by default. If you enable chat backups in Settings, the operating system may include them in your iCloud or computer backups. Those backups are separate from AI generation and depend on your device and backup settings. Turning this option off does not delete copies already in an existing backup; manage those through your backup settings.
Clearing the current chat in Settings also removes it from chat history. You can remove downloaded models from Models, or delete the app to remove its local app container.
When the app connects to the internet
An internet connection is used when a person chooses to:
- Download or inspect an AI model hosted by Hugging Face.
- Open the restricted Hugging Face browser in advanced or manual mode.
- Visit an external legal, support, or model-licence page.
Model inspection and download requests contain the requested repository and file information, not your chat text or history. Hugging Face and its file-delivery infrastructure receive connection information, such as your IP address, device connection information and request details, to deliver, secure and improve their services.
Starting with version 5.6, Cravante explains these connections and asks your permission before checking or downloading a model or opening the model browser. You can decline, pause a download or close the browser. Permission for a download includes reconnecting during that app session; after relaunching the app, resuming requires confirmation again. Your messages and AI replies are never included in these requests.
The optional Hugging Face browser loads third-party website content. Hugging Face may receive IP address, approximate location, session and device information, pages viewed, and temporary cookies to operate, secure and analyse its service. The browser uses a non-persistent website-data store. In version 5.6 it is restricted to public model listings and files, with JavaScript, form submission, online chat, sign-in and navigation to other domains blocked. Cravante does not pass your conversations into this browser.
Hugging Face describes its uses of connection information, retention, security safeguards, and service providers in its Privacy Policy. Privacy and deletion requests for information held by Hugging Face can be sent to privacy@huggingface.co. You can avoid further model-download and browsing connections by not opening these optional features. Models already downloaded continue to work without those connections.
Opening a legal or support website sends normal connection information to that website. If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send so we can answer your request. The app does not automatically attach chats. Please avoid sending sensitive conversation content.
Analytics, diagnostics, advertising, and tracking
The app contains no advertising SDK, app analytics service, cross-app tracking technology, or Cravante-operated diagnostic upload. Cravante does not access the advertising identifier or sell personal information. Third-party websites opened at your request have their own data practices, as described above.
Required iOS information
Cravante uses iOS preferences to store app-only settings and checks free disk space before starting a large model download. This information is used only on the device and is not sent to Cravante or used for fingerprinting.
Changes
If Cravante’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated before the changed version is released.
